Kyokushin Karate is a full-contact Japanese karate style founded by Masutatsu Oyama (1923 - 1994). Kyokushin karate encourages and develops an attitude of perseverance and determination.
In Kyokushin Karate the focus is on the full-contact aspect of fighting.
The IFK was founded in 1992 by Hanshi Steve Arneil to:
- promote on an international basis for the teaching, practice and dissemination of information on Kyokushin karate;
- establish a unified system of kihon, kata and gradings within national organisations;
